This flowering plant is not new for those who live in tropical region of Nepal. This is ‘touch-me-not’ (Mimosa pudica Linn.) locally known as Lajjawati or Buhari jhar.
Many books, articles etc explains about the use of this plant for kidney, piles, fistula, asthma, fever, cold, dysentery etc but one more use that local people practice is missing.
One interesting use of this herb by the local people is to cure Jaundice. Roots are washed and beaten to crush then prepare a drink by soaking in pure water, and then drink frequently for 3-4 days or more depending up on severity. It’s a simple process and can be done in kitchen. As practitioners/users say, it is very effective to cure the diseases.
If you want to try it, consult some knowledgeable healers or experts before you do practice.
